Hello! It’s me again and you’re probably wondering “what is he going through with this title?” “Shut up in my bones” is a reference to a Bible verse, Jeremiah 20:9. The speaker likened the presence of God to an undeniable, burning sensation in his body that cannot be ignored. I don’t know what it is about the holidays and the end of the year that makes me start re-examining life and plotting for the future, but I find myself haunted by my desires to evolve in my artistry.
I can thank Johnathan Blanchard of JB’s Record Lounge for planting this seed a couple weeks ago. I just wrapped up playing a set for the Black Friday sale and JB randomly asked me “when are you going to start throwing parties? People need to get free.” I was gobsmacked by his question because I had been questioning my talents and where I fit in this city full of popular and well established DJ’s and tastemakers. Then I flashed back to the year of “Shuffle & Repeat.” With a lot of encouragement from my genius collaborator Jay Ray, I embarked on a mission to highlight artists and movements that brought us joy and jams to dance to.

There was the New Jack Swing Party, the Missy Elliot Sound Session, the Lil’ Kim vs. Foxy Brown Sound clash and one of my personal favorites the Prizmatic Art & Music tribute to Pharrell Williams. As you can see in the sizzle reel below, the collaboration with renowned artists like Ajmal Miller and Chris Barker was an amazing testament to the community because you all showed up big time!
My question is: Should I bring back Shuffle & Repeat? Do you want to “get free?”
Vote below and if you have thoughts on what you would like to see at events centered around music and dancing, please shoot me an email. I would love to know what’s on your mind.
Speaking of JB’s Record Lounge, join us this Saturday, December 16th for an evening of holiday cheer. JB and The Wild Whiskey Woman would like to show their gratitude to you for another successful year at their Thankmus party. There will be beverages and bites and of course plenty of music provided by elite selectors including Beats & Blends , Johnny Normal and yours truly! It all starts at 7P in historic West End at 898 Oak St. Suite F, Atlanta 30310. I hear the discounts are going to be great for those of you looking for gifts and stocking stuffers.
Sunday of course, I will be at Rock Steady from 6-10 P playing for the dinner crowd at the sexiest restaurant in the city. If you’re looking for New Years Eve dinner plans, they’re offering 3 seating options, but you have to make those reservations as soon as possible. Don’t miss out!

Thanks again for giving me space to share my thoughts with you. I hope you enjoy your “hump day.” And if you need a little pick-me-up, give Medino Green’s latest project “Mackadocious” a listen. It’s chockfull of bars and bops. See you Saturday!
